Biggest up-cycling job ever.

back ground
Last year I did my Permaculture certificate with the amazing guys at APW Auckland Permaculture Workshop. To get the certificate you need to do a 20 hour design so I chose to use The Ranui Community house where I work as the basis of my design. The Ranui Community house building has been divided in half for the last 15 years with one side being the Library and the other side is the community house. The Library moved into a new, larger building leaving the community house with the use of thier old space.
The Community house and Auckland council are working together to make this one usable space by refubishing the internal layout of the building.
My desgin project was on stopping as much of the waste materials coming out of this project going to landfill and to use this oportunity to work with the community to up-cycle all of this concieved waste.
At that point it was all theory and a big dream but it is now becoming a reality.

I spoke to my boss Lippy Chalmers about the idea and she said yes yes yes!
